Early Association By-Laws
The Association's early leaders have created and approved the By-Laws of the Tsinghua University Alumni Association in the Greater Chicago Area in December 1991. Under Article II Objectives, the Association was defined as "a not-for-profit organization under the laws of the state of Illinois".
In 1996, the Board of Directors and executive leadership held a joined meeting and passed a resolution for the By-Laws interpretation that "non-political" is one of the Association's fundamental principles. The meeting specifically emphasized that the Association should not be involved in political issues of any kinds, including political issues around the relationship between Mainland China and Taiwan.
